A plain description of what this site and the desktop application handle. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and will be replaced by a reviewed version before general sale.
Your footage never comes to us
R2-D3 runs on your cart. Media, checksums, ASC-MHL files, reports and custody records stay on your machines and your destinations. The application has no product API on our servers and does not upload your media, your file listings, or your custody evidence to us.
What this website stores
- Your account identity, handled by Clerk: an email address and the sign-in method you chose.
- Billing records, handled by Stripe: Stripe holds payment details; we store a customer reference, subscription state, and your update window.
- License records: the license issued to your account, its update cutoff, and the installation ids you activate — so the two-machine limit can be enforced and a license file can be re-issued.
- Download records needed to serve entitlement-checked installers.
Installation ids
An installation id identifies a machine to your license. It is generated by the application and submitted by you. It is used only to enforce the activation limit and to issue your license file.
Third parties
Clerk (identity), Stripe (payments and tax), and our hosting and object storage providers process data on our behalf in order to run the account, billing and download flows. Frame.io, OffShoot Pro and DaVinci Resolve are products you license and configure yourself; when R2-D3 talks to them it does so from your machine with your credentials, and their own privacy terms apply.
Retention and your data
License and billing records are kept while your account exists and for as long as we are required to keep financial records. You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, or ask us to delete your account; deleting an account ends the ability to re-issue license files for it.
