Terms of sale and use

This page states, in plain language, what we intend the agreement to be. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, so treat it as a statement of intent rather than a finished contract. It will be replaced by a reviewed version before general sale, and we will say so when it is.

What you buy

A perpetual, non-exclusive license to use R2-D3, plus twelve months of updates from the date of purchase. The license is granted to the purchasing account and may be activated on up to two machines at a time.

Updates and renewal

Payment renews annually and extends your update window by another twelve months. Cancelling stops future renewals. It does not revoke your license and does not withdraw any release published on or before the end of your paid update window; those releases remain available and usable indefinitely.

What R2-D3 does and does not do

R2-D3 orchestrates third-party tools. It does not copy media itself. Copying and verification are performed by OffShoot Pro, which you must license separately; proxy and dailies stages require DaVinci Resolve Studio; Frame.io upload uses your own account. We make no warranty about the behaviour of those products, and their own terms govern your use of them.

Current status

R2-D3 is an engineering pilot and is not production-certified. It is supplied as-is. You remain responsible for your own data-management decisions, including the decision to format a card. Do not treat any single tool, including this one, as your only safeguard against media loss.

Refunds

A refund policy has not been finalised. Until it is published here, ask us before purchasing and we will answer in writing; that answer will be honoured.

Acceptable use

Do not share, resell, or sublicense your license file or activation credentials.
Do not attempt to forge, alter, or bypass custody evidence, safety verdicts, or signed permits produced by the application.
Do not present output from a modified build as evidence produced by R2-D3.
